Crossing Motion was a research lab organised by ↗Candoco Dance Company and ↗ShareMusic & Performing Arts. I was contracted by Candoco as a dance artist to take part alongside Candoco’s company dancer Anna Seymour and other dancers from ShareMusic’s WORK ensemble. We worked together with Simon Crawford-Phillips (Conductor/Artistic Director of Västerås Sinfonietta), the Västerås Sinfonietta Orchestra, and the electronic music group Elefantöra.
The lab itself was the final part of a 15 year research project that explored co-creation between dancers and musicians. It also formed the research phase for a dance piece created for Jesper Nordin’s composition, ↗Retrospectives, due to be performed Februrary 2024.
